Movie review reflection

    When I first saw the assignment, it seemed easy. I have many movies stored in my brain that I know by heart. However, a summary was not what was asked. My original pick was Twilight, as it is my favorite movie to this date. I found that Twilight was not a good pick. Because, as much as I love it, it is not that good of a movie. The love that I have for it blinds me to this fact and my bias prohibits me from writing my own review on it. So, I changed my choice to Barbie. 

Barbie (2023) is another movie that I hold dearly. Its message on the depth of womanhood is something I could talk about all day. I first used the “clustering” technique (of course) to map where I wanted to start and give a clear view of what all I wanted to cover in order to not stray away and ramble about my love for the movie. I began to watch it for the 100th time, but found that it made me more emotional than focused. I then read a rotten tomato review to really channel my inner movie critic and this sparked my flow. I enjoyed this assignment the most because of how connected I am to this movie; being a woman and a fan of Barbie, Greta Gerwig, music, pink, Margot Robbie, and of course women.
