The Dispassion of AI Art
In this essay, I will be arguing that the growing usage of AI art can be harmful to society. Considering AI can’t feel any emotions, it can’t capture the beauty and thought processes that artists use to create their masterpieces. With its rapid growth, it will also eventually defund these hardworking artists. Anyone can easily just tell AI what to create, and it will create art faster and with less materials than humans can. This can cause things like businesses to turn to AI for art, instead of a human artist, all because it’s quicker and less costly to do so.
I will be using an article I found in the UAPTC Library called “Arguments for the Rise of Artificial Intelligence Art: Does AI Art Have Creativity, Motivation, Self-awareness and Emotion?” by Bai Liu and “ART in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” by Shauna Jean Doherty to argue this case.
